Post Valentines Day Sales
I've been so preoccupied with other matters (life is messy like that) that I entirely missed the fact that yesterday was Candy Sale Day! While most people track the normal holidays like Christmas, Easter, and Valentines I tend to focus on the aftermath. It was a sort of tradition. If I got to visit my Grandma for Easter we would head over to the Ben Franklins store and hit the leftovers. I was thrilled with the idea of buying twice as much candy with the same amount of money. Now, with my tastes running toward more expensive treats, the post-holiday sales are a Godsend. So, with Valentines Day behind us we can celebrate consumerism with half-price chocolates galore. Keep your eyes open for beautiful bargains, I know I will.

I went to Whole Foods yesterday and they had some 50% off Lake Champlain and Nirvana chocolate boxes, methinks. Buuut...I didn't realllly want anything. If someone else got me the chocolate I'd eat it though. :)

I totally struck out this weekend.
On Friday I went to Target and found no sale Choxie, but got some half price Reese's miniatures and some possibly-good toffee. Nothin' at the drug store except for some little candy bracelets that I picked up as some sweet bling for a blogger party.
Yesterday I tried Cost Plus World Market and then another drug store and the grocery store. Nada.
There are a few online sales, but certainly not on the same magnitude as Christmas.
I have high hopes for Easter.

I didn't find much worth my attention, but I didn't look too hard. The store that seems to have the best after-Easter selection didn't have much. Most of it was slashed to 75% or more off and was already gone. They needed to clear out the Valentines stuff to make room for the easter stuff I guess. So, yeah, I didn't pick up anything. Not that I don't already have a pantry full of chocolate or anything.
Easter is it's own beast. I need my Peep fix and I tend to ignore the chocolate entirely in favor of marshmallowy goodness. I need to visit the Just Born factory some day.

I've never been a huge fan of Peeps, but then again, I haven't had one in years. (They're fun to toast, just be sure to let the toasted sugar coating cool before putting it in your mouth.)
I was hoping to visit Just Born this summer when I'm in PA and have the time ... I'm going to PGH this weekend.
I saw Valentine's Peeps, but they were berry flavor or some abomination.
